welcome!

expanding awareness to promote healing

your therapist

My name is Tara Ellen and I am a licensed massage therapist in the state of Virginia. I started my private practice in April 2011. It's been a rewarding journey receiving so many incredible people of all walks of life. My goal is to provide clients with a holistic approach towards a state of well-being and high coherence. All my clients are treated with utmost respect and compassion. I enjoy supporting my clients with effective treatment, as well as educating them about the importance of self care, awareness and presence.

I discovered John Barnes' Myofascial Release while I was attending massage therapy school (2009-2011). I knew I still had much to learn about therapeutic massage and supporting a wide range of conditions. But there was something that intrigued me about this approach. For one, it's beneficial for everyone regardless of age or lifestyle. Myofascial Release is not only about the therapist's knowledge through touch, but it allows the client receiving the therapy to connect with their own body in a gentle way. While we all are focused on ridding ourselves of pain and tension, Myofascial Release helps us find our ease.

I'm also a proud dog mom of a young Chihuahua/Terrier mix named Izzy. I enjoy working with rescue dogs and pet sitting in my community. Dogs have further deepened my awareness and opened my heart. I would not be who I am today without our magical canine friends!
